Travelling for Pleasure?

The Coachmans Inn offers you a lot if you are visiting Invercargill, Southland, Stewart Island or Fiordland. Invercargill is a good base to travel from as you explore the natural beauty of Fiordland, including Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. If you're visiting New Zealand's newest National Park on Stewart Island, you can store your car at the Coachman's Inn (or the storage depot at Bluff), then either fly over Foveaux Strait or take the shuttle to Bluff and cross on the ferry service.

There are many beautiful areas to visit in the region with visits to Te Anau and Manapouri a must. The Humpridge Track is an adventure not to be missed for keen trampers. The Catlins area is another favourite and boasts some of Southland's best scenery. Fishing in Southland is amazing with three major Brown Trout fisheries within kilometres of Invercargill (Mataura, Aparima and Oreti Rivers).

Many of the tourists who spend time at the Coachmans Inn will return there up to three times during their trip to Southland as they discover what the region has to offer.
